I was inspired to write this because of certain experiences that I have encountered this past few days and it was one crazy experience. It’s Amazing on how a couple of days can make you learn new things and change your view on certain aspects whether it’s your personal or professional life. I would like to share this to friends just like me, who are still struggling to find different and “sad to say” unconventional ways of finding opportunities and means to earn a descent living. This is for friends who are still searching for their function in their professional and personal life and to Friends who think that Business is all about money I would like to share this with you. “THE REAL ESSENCE OF ENTERING A BUSINESS”.
Why did I start a Business?? People often misjudged me that I’m only here for the money. Yes, I won’t lie, It’s technically true, My primary reason is to earn money. And If you're not in it for that, then what kind of Person are you??, Getting himself into Business and trying not to involved “ MONEY MAKIN” as one of his main objectives. That’s just Crazy and Berserk!!.
There’s a big difference between a “BUSINESSMAN” and a “ PERSON WHO’S JUST DOING BUSINESS” . A “PERSON WHO’S JUST DOIN BUSINESS” is someone who is engaged in Business; he finds a good opportunity and sells it for his primary goal, to earn profit. In short the “PERSON WHO’S JUST DOIN BUSINESS” is just in there for the quick flip. A “BUSINESSMAN” in the other hand finds a good opportunity, sells it and with his product, makes a lasting contribution to a community. His main goal is not just about earning money, instead he also puts in mind the Customer’s real needs, the importance of providing jobs to people (being personal and thinking also of their families), the ETHICAL and MORAL ways of running a company and selling a product, In what way can his company grow and at same time let the people around it grow as well. Lastly, He also puts in mind that the success of a Business is a great contribution to the success of a country.
I haven’t really defined “What I am” a “BUSINESSMAN” or a “ PERSON WHO’s JUST DOING BUSINESS”. I could be either of the two but I suggest that you my friend, should be the one to determine.
I started getting really involved in Business and Investing as soon as I graduated from College. Before that I really did not know the real value of money. I’m no spoiled brat, but back then, I never realize the term “MONEY AIN’T EASY” I was more involved in saving for luxuries rather than Investments. As a youngster who got a couple of bucks for a graduation gift, and being raised by a self- made Business minded Father. I was really determined to earn on my own and hopefully like my Father be successful in my own right. It was more of self fulfillment. My first meek venture was trying to sell generic detergent. It didn’t do well since I realize the competition was very stiff. I considered it my first failure in Business. Looking back it was just hilarious selling detergent to aunts and relatives, I also realize it’s definitely not my thing hehehe.. After that I opened my first Venture with a Partner, used partial of my grad money for rent, and formed a small “Tiangge Shop”. I was selling my father’s products there, it didn’t last long but it did really well, I was able to recoup all my investments and profits in 2 mos. I stopped because of certain things, I was not contented with this line and I felt I wanted a company that would not involved my Father’s Industry. So I loaned from a couple of relatives including my Dad and opened a computer rental shop, I have a couple of workers I hired. It’s been running for almost a year now. Presently, I haven’t recouped my capital in this investment and I’m not earning that much either. Yet, what really keeps me motivated to continue is the realization that I’m providing something to the community. I learned that my workers rely on my small enterprise as a means of living; it has been providing them food on the table. I also learned the students (most of my customers) benefit largely on this shop whether its education or entertainment. In my small little way, I know I’m contributing Technology and Information advancement to an I.T. deprived community. Because of this, I was able to come up with more ideas on how I could improve my services to this small but very driven community. Now I’m thinking of opening an Ink Refilling and a small Printing shop as an added feature to my small biz. I know it’s just a small venture, I may not be earning much but I’m happy because there’s DIGNITY in it. And if there’s any situation in the future that I fail, I’ll be ready because I know I’ll recover as a better person with more experience and with this in mind I’d be able use this to be able to come up with a bigger and a more successful venture.
Now, my advised to friends who are entering any business venture. Ask yourself are you a “BUSINESSMAN” or are you a”PERSON WHO’S JUST DOING BUSINESS”??. Are you in this Business venture for the “MONEY”?? or other than the profit “ARE YOU IN IT FOR A MORE FUFILLING AND MEANINGFUL PURPOSE??” , “ARE YOU PLANNING TO PRACTICE STANDARD BUSINESS ETHICS?? GIVING IMPORTANCE TO MORALITY AND GOOD CONDUCT??, WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE?? With this I hope you my friend could determine who of these two personalities would you like to become and in the future I hope you would find the true meaning and the keys of being successful.
I haven’t found it either but I’m still striving and still trying to become a successful “BUSINESSMAN”.
Anyways I have reccommended books that enlightened me before and maybe it could help to enlight you..
